Five brand new Cub Scouts from the first Pack of the Child Development Center of St. Joseph Milwaukee Parental Choice School, with the help of all the school parents, raised $290 at a bake sale fundraiser just prior to Thanksgiving. Units are able to use the funds they raise for any activities that are within the national and local council guidelines and that their unit committee and chartered organization approve. Most commonly funds are used for:

  • Unit activities such as camping and other activities
  • Program supplies for unit activities
  • Equipment such as tents, camp stoves, and pinewood derby® tracks
  • Advancements and awards such as rank emblems and merit badges
  • Boys' Life magazine subscriptions

Directed by their Pack Leader, Finance Director Dave Roettgen, the First Grade boys already dreamed up big plans for their initial camping trip. The school is in the process of establishing a Girl Scout Daisy group for girls from grades K-1.

SM Brendan Bogdan, Director of Corporate Responsibility/Community Outreach at St. Joseph School, shares that, "it is noteworthy for all at St. Joseph's that their first Cub Scout Pack has been established. All take pride in their initial effort to raise funds for this program."
